**Nominations are reviewed and award winners selected by a private committee that is separate and a part of the AACCCF staff.
MLK Humanitarian Award:
The MLK Humanitarian Award, a prestigious honor in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., pays tribute to his enduring legacy of freedom, equality, justice, and love. Inspired by Dr. King’s core values, the award recognizes individuals exemplifying his values. It celebrates those making meaningful contributions to justice, equality, and love in our society, embodying the enduring spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Corporate Recognition:
This category acknowledges an organization exemplifying an exceptional dedication to both business and social responsibility. The exemplary corporation has played a pivotal role in nurturing African American small businesses by offering valuable professional guidance, going above and beyond standard practices, and making a positive impact through mentorship or contractual engagements.
Small Business Advocate of The Year:
This distinguished award acknowledges the exceptional efforts of an individual or business that has wholeheartedly dedicated themselves to advancing small business opportunities, particularly for minority business owners. The recipient of this award will be an exemplary advocate and spokesperson who has played a pivotal role in championing the cause of small businesses.
Emerging Business of The Year:
This category acknowledges a Black-owned enterprise or entrepreneur that has operated for a span of one to three fiscal years and has displayed significant growth.
Enterprise Business of The Year Award:
This category acknowledges a Black-owned enterprise or entrepreneur that has operated for a span of three to five fiscal years and has displayed significant growth.
Eagle Award:
This category acknowledges a Black-owned enterprise or entrepreneur that has made notable, long-term contributions to economic development, its industry and community.
